Spec me a router!

Hi,

Our router recently gave up, it just doesn't even try and connect to DSL anymore. I'll give it a go at fixing it tomorrow, but for now I want to just look around for a good router in case one needs to be bought.

The one that gave up on us is a ZyXEL Prestige 660-HW.

Before we got the router our internet went down every few hours due to crap farm lines. When we got the ZyXEL it improved a lot, we still get disconnected sometimes, but it isn't nearly as bad.

The new router will need to be as good/better at keeping a line alive.

Around £50 I guess

EDIT

Needs to have wireless & at least 4 network ports as well.

I used to have drop outs daily due to my crap SNR, however, this little baby fixed that and has held sync with -db SNR.

Its one solid router.

I'd recomend any of the linksys routers, I've allways used them and have had no problems.

Netgear DG834G 54Mbps Wireless ADSL Modem/Router/Switch/Firewall
I have an identical one, apart from it is not a wireless router.

This is a great all in one solution, it's a doddle to setup!
You just can't go wrong! It's ADSL btw, so make sure it's compatible with your line.

Great units, strong signal all over my house including the back garden (handy in the summer months)!!

another vote for netgear, got a DG834GT be on 24/7 for the last 2 years havent had 1 issue with it at all, highly recommend it
