I've been away for the last week but when i got home ive been informed there was some kind of power surge that has damaged the power adapter for my wrt54g router. The router works fine with my modem's power lead but i only have one suitable lead so i either need to buy a new lead or a new router and i think its time for a replacement router as ive been only getting around 10mbs on my wireless computers(when im on virgin 20mb)

My setup is
1 wired computer
2 laptops (G adapters(internal) getting roughly 10mbs)
1 wireless pc downstairs(G adapter only getting 2mbs)
1 wireless pc upstairs (N adapter getting 11mbs)

I'd very much appreciate it if you could answer some small questions i have

1) Is Wireless N any major improvement over G?
2) Will it provide any bonus to my downstairs networked pc(as its terribly slow)
3)Can you run G and N simultaneously?

and is there any routers out there that stand out from the crowd that i should be looking at getting? (Would like to spend less than £80)

Thanks in advance for your help!

I've been doing some research in the limited time i have and i'm thinking of getting the wrt320N as its at a nice price on ocuk(the same price as wrt160n)

However, it only supports 1 band at a time(2.4 or 5ghz) and as i have G devices on my network ill need to run it purely on the 2.4ghz band, will this only give me G speeds on my N type network adapter?
