Hi guys this is for the inlaws who dont use the internet much so they still have adsl 2. Whats a good router in the upto £50 category that will work as a modem router (i think thats the right name, an all in one thing).

Cheers

Chris

What are you finding wrong with the ISP provided router? I don't think there's much <£50 that would improve on most ISP provided ones and often a step backwards i.e. slower/older wifi protocols.

Also, as I have found to my cost, if something goes wrong then with the ISP provided one they can phone the ISP up and not you!

The problem they have, is that the one theyve been using for a number of years is no longer connecting to the internet, however it does at my house. The isp have leant them a router and that one works fine at their house so we're thinking theres something wrong with they're old one. The isp has recently been putting fibre in their street but have been round and checked the line is ok.

ISP will normally replace their provided router for free, especially if they've been with them for years and you've proved a replacement works just fine.
