Hi all, after realising too late that my ga-p43-es3g lacked the fsb to get me to 4+GHz I'm starting to look around at potential options. I'm happy with the board otherwise, so my main concern is OCing potential (but xfire capability wouldn't go astray in case I decide to go that route in the future). What do you guys recommend?

Yep, P43 hits 400 (and even that is a tad unstable regardless of NB voltage). So far, I'm really happy with Gigabyte, and I've heard Asus are really bad for RMAs(?) so would like to stick with them if possible. My main thing is getting the highest fsb possible seeing as I'm stuck with a 9X multi and want to go up up up! Is it worth looking at X48 boards or is that a waste of time/money (Asus rampage looks good, but way too much moolah). Cheers for the replies.

I read that P45 is newer than x38. The UD3LR is what I'm looking at but I just realised that it has "Dynamic 4-Gear switching" whereas the non-L variants have "Dynamic 6-Gear switching" which from looking at the photos I would say is the CPU voltage regulation. Irritating that all I can find for sale is the LR version.

Good old Gigabyte 965P DS3

Im so impressed with this board, that I currently have 4 of the sods. All clock like Mofo's

1 - 660 Prescott 3.6 @ 4.3 ( 4.7 was easy but temps forced backdown )
2 - 6300 @ 3.6 ( x2 OC !!! )
3 - 2180 @ 3.0 ( Probably go more but why bothjer )
4 - Q6600 @ 3.0 ( 333FSB nice round figure )

All boards can be had for pennies these days
