I'm wanting to get a sander as I have a lot of DIY to do, mostly it'll be sanding down walls after wallpaper has been stripped in preparation for painting. I will also be doing window frames and doors though.

There seems to be loads out there, so which one(s) are best suited for me?

sanding walls? hmm if its nessesary then a 1/3 sheet orbital sander would be fine. as for doors, if they are painted dont bother - use a heat gun and scraper, than a belt sander (ideally 4 inch wide) with a 100 grit paper in (only sand with the grain using a belt snader) then finish with an orbital sander and a 150 grit paper.

When using a belt sander, alwasy keep it moving! They love chewing through wood so be careful :)

hope this helps you
