Hi all,

In need of a satnav

- Cheap
- Reliable
- Easy to read/follow
- Accurate
- Preferably with assistance for complex junctions
- Will be mounted in the normal way on windscreen or dash plate

No other requirements... Will not be used often!

Any ideas? I don't have a clue... Are TomToms the ones to have..?

e; Apparently I have to justify wanting a sat-nav in my spec me a sat-nav thread...

- My parents will use it and they don't have smart-phones
- I would like to just leave it in the glove-box so I never forget it
- I would also like to be able to take it with me in a friends car and still be able to use my phone

phone -> waze -> win.

or phone -> tom tom go -> win

I use tom tom go on my android head unit and like it lots.

Oh an app for my phone! GEE I WISH I'D THOUGHT OF THAT! I wondered how I had been getting around!

Maybe it will also be used by my non techy parents? Maybe I want a satnav which is why I made this thread? :p

There's no need to be so unhelpful ;)

Or you could stop being a plank and explain why you don't want to use a phone. Maybes won't cut it.

all the garmins, tomtoms etc have the exact same interface as the mobile counterparts so I don't see how "your non techy parents" are going to struggle with a phone app and if they do they will also struggle with a separate sat nav.

if you insist on having it then just get one of the tom tom's from halfords and be done with it, they're all much of the muchness.

Yep today you really have to think of a very good reason why you *wouldnt* use a phone. If your parents are techy enough to use a satnav, they're techy enough to use a phone

I made a thread asking for people to help me choose a satnav, I don't need to give you my reasoning or justification...

I'll just get them to download Waze into their Nokia 3310's shall I?

Lol the old "its my thread, you do as I say" nonsense.

It's an open discussion forum, people can post what they like within the rules. The responses were the best solution for the requirements you gave

Go pick up all your toys, put them back in your cot, and come back to this when you want to have a discussion like a grown up.

OcUK thread dictatorship at it's finest.

I'm not in a bad mood you bunch of **** takers!

I made a thread asking for satnav recommendations and we are 20 posts in and people have posted to use a phone instead, lectured me on how satnavs are obsolete, tried to make me justify why I want one, given me the 'its a free world/open forum' lecture, and accused me of being moody.

This forum is ridiculous sometimes!

Is anyone going to actually offer some advice or shall I just buy the cheapest one?
