Spec me a sensible system.

I'm in dire need of a new tower but just don't know what to settle on tbh.
I could just buy the best on offer and done but would i feel the difference over a cheaper spec?
Is the 9800x3d really that much better than the 9700x?

Can you define that in more detail? What does a casual gamer mean to you, in terms of games, monitor resolution, expectation of FPS?

If I take your words in the typical sense of casual, no, a 9800X3D would be overkill and unnecessary. It is likely a 9700X would also be overkill and unnecessary, but we need more details to say for sure.

It would also be helpful to know what money means to you. If money is tight and you'd rather spend say... £1K, then that's different to having a budget of £4K.
