My student loan came in this morning so i'm feeling a bit flush.;)

I don't think I can justify the cost of a set of Lee filters so I'm thinking of either Cokin or Hi-Tec 100mm ones. Any experience with either, I know the Cokin are 'supposed' to have a colour cast so am erring towards Hi-Tec at the moment.

I'm thinking of at least one plain ND for longer exposures during the day and a couple of grads, but what ones I'm not sure. Hard or soft and what density would be the best all rounders?

And what else will I need? An 82mm adaptor for my lens and a holder, anything else?

Thanks :)

System? Do you mean do I already have any slot type filters? If so, I don't have any and am starting from scratch. :)

just wondered what lens you are using it on and what body, i dont allways note remember what camera/body/style everyone uses hence what system ?

82mm usually is sigma. so what system meant i guess point/shoot with adapter or range of lens and sizes required as a start.

Ah ok sorry.

Canon 400D with a Sigma 24-70, which is why I think the 100mm filters are probably the best bet. I want to get a 10-20 or something like that in the near future too so it will need to fit that too. :)

i use the cokin filters and i have a kood ND8, the kood is pretty poo tbh but i'm happy with my cokin grad grey filter - not noticed any colour cast.
