Spec me a shuttle pc

-Shuttle SG33G5
-Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 2.53GHz
-Chepest 8800GT 512MB you can find
-Corsair 4GB PC2-6400 C5 XMS2 (2x2GB)
-500GB Samsung Spinpoint F1

A little more than £500 but decent fast shuttles aren’t a cheap build.

nope, only single slot gfx cards are compatible.

could mod the case i guess, like this

A 9800 GTX is way to long though.
How does a 9800 GTX fit in your budget anyway  its only a little faster than an 8800gt anyway tbh.

Why not go for the Shuttle XPC SG31G2? Its got the classic shuttle look too (unlike the new carp looking ones :P). Would save about £60.

The SG31G2 uses a really dated elanpower PSU, the SG33G5 PSU is much quieter and has higher rated rails. The G33 chipset is also quite an improvement over the G31 chipset. Overall the SG33G5 is a better SFF than the SG31G2.
Looks wise in the flesh the new xpc cases are more classy imo, also better laid out inside to.

Yup thats right, the SP and SX units are more overclocking orientated, but as with everything you pay the price for this.

That spec looks rly good. Can you just put any DVD-RW drive in one of these?

And will the 8800 GT play bioshock / crysis etc? Is there a better ATI card for this?

Yes and yes. Bioshock is very easy to run, my old overclocked X1900XT could run it flat out at 1680x1050 DX9 no probs.
The Shuttles really are powerful gaming machines with the right GFX :)
