im wanting a new pc soon, and im tempted by a shuttle just because of how much space i might save, however ive read about the heat issue, so im thinking of gettin one as a second PC and also for my parents and sister to use. I dont know much about what can go in them etc. But it will be used for a bit of gaming (css & wow/sims for my sis), web browsing and using office etc, and my dad messing on with cad & ps etc.

i dont need a keyboard, mouse, speakers or monitor just the shuttle itself.

dont really have a budget, but dont want to spend loads as im about to buy myself a high end pc for my room.

Thanks in advance.

there is no heat issue?? i dont know where you read that but its total bull :)

if you dont wanna spend loads then the ST20G5 might be worth lookin at, it will fit everything a normal ATX case will fit except dual slot graphics cards.

if you want a dual slot card then the SN25P would be the best way to go

Well you've only got a single 80 or 92mm fan so, if you're not careful, pockets of hot air can stagnate in certain areas of the case.
The temps in my shuttle are mostly fine, though, but the graphics card can hit 78 degrees. I know that's within spec but still..

nah temps are fine unless you fit somethin wrong. just cos its the size of a shoe box people automatically think they will get really hot but htey dont.

they have been ingeniously designed. the ICE cooling is very effective at dissapating heat from the cpu and the rest of the case. granted gpu temps do rise a bit but thats to be expected as their usually right next to the side of the case. though when idle temps with a stock cooler arnt much higher than that of a full atx tower, maybe a few degrees or so...?

and as sean said, their load temps are still well within the manufacturers spec so nothin to worry about :)
