I've currently have

AM2 X2 4400+ processor
Arctic Freezer 64 Cooler
Mini ATX board with onboard graphics and hdmi
ATI 2400 pro PCI Ex low profile graphics card DVI
2GB DDR 2 ram
80GB hard drive
Mini Atx case and 300Watt power supply

Its fine for my media pc at the minute it plays everything I have, its just too noisy to leave on all the time, I'm looking for something smaller and quieter if possible.

I just built up a HTPC for a mate:-

Antec NSK4280
Amd Athlon 2 x2 250
Asus M378N-EM (he wanted HDMI and Optical and hardware MKV)
4Gb Crucial Balistics (DDR2)
Hitachi 500Gb Sata (he already had this)
Samsung DVD-RW Sata.

Only sound to be heard (with the supplied Tri Cools on Slow) is the PSU and that can barely be heard. Certainly silent from below the TV

spec

just built in an antec skeleton mini case;
Zotac 9300 wifi board
Intel 7200 dual core processor
4 gigabyte crucial memory
new crucial m225 64 gigabyte sata ssd
500 gigabyte western digital blue 2.5inch(removed case and installed internally with usb gubbins from case)
xfx 9500 low profile graphics in hybrid sli mode (had to remove plastics surrounding fan to install)
Sony Blu Ray drive but will install an LG Blu ray writer ive got hanging around later today (would like something smaller as i have had to remove the rear case fan)
might go with a Scythe Kama panel and a laptop Blu ray drive replacing the 4 fan controllers
also could not Fit a Scythe Shuriken cpu cooler as is slightly too big, so have to make do with a stock intel cooler for now,
running windows 7 ultimate.

god knows what its like to use as it was borrowed by my eldest son whilst he waits for a Fractal design case to be delivered and i can then build him a good one.
