Hi all,
I have just had a garden too. Built at far end of garden and have had power and Ethernet socket installed. I want to have WiFi in the new building and outside it. Household WiFi does not extend due to thick walls. Can anyone recommend a cheap plug in WiFi access point I can just connect to power and plug into the buildings Ethernet to broadcast the houses WiFi? Was wondering if some kind of extender would work but want something easy to set up!
Thanks.

TPlink RE505X WiFi 6. (2.4Ghz and 5Ghz)

Can do
Wireless to Wireless
LAN to Wireless
Wireless to LAN

Has a couple decent antenna that pivot up

I use one to pick up the house WiFi , rebroadcast locally in my outbuilding plus feed ethernet and I get ~250Mbps download at 25 meters through a couple of walls on 5GHz from Unify 6-lite access point.

At closer ranges speeds peak around 600Mbps actual (open speed test)

Should be £40-50 depending on deals, though some sellers are more optimistic. It does seem to fluctuate quite a bit.

I will say. If you have Ethernet in the location use a dedicated Access Point; extenders are crap at the best of times.

Zyxel NWA50AX

Cheap, fast and has a free cloud management interface run by Zyxel. Easy to scale when you decide you want the house to follow.

Unifi access point.

You can power it from a single cable from inside the house. Add a Poe injector in the house and it'll do days and power in one cable.

As above, this may suit an old ISP router you have in a draw, just turn the DHCP server off and change the SSID/pw to the same as the main unit, and devices should just jump to whatever is strongest automatically in most cases. If buying something, Deco or Unifi would be my personal choice, long proven stability and easily expanded. Realistically, anything wireless is more about convenience than speed (4K Netflix is under 40Mbit), I put a Ubiquiti Cube-AC in the roof space and powered it via PoE as it's small, cheap used and pretty much bombproof at this stage, another deployment has an old ASUS AC56U in AP mode and here i'm running a mix of Deco/Unifi.

Was using 4 x Huawei AX3000 quad core. Wasn’t too bad until upgraded to a 1gb broadband. Upgraded to the Deco X75 Pro and is excellent. I’m getting 95%-98% of the speed at first and second floor and about 90% of speed on garden.
Just a background on my situation, terrace house, hard flooring with foil sheet underlay. A killer for WiFi.
Something like the Huawei AX3000 should be great if you manage to use a network cable for back haul.
