Righteo, I am running out of paper on my current sketchpad and I was wondering if you guys know any good paper for drawing on? I'm not very good at drawing, but heres an example of my shizz (don'tlaughplz) :

Just basic pencils jobbies, trying to improve though.

Anyone who can spec a decent drawing pencil would be welcome too, my usual one is near a stub!!

Nah I got good pencils, just need good paper, and some of the cheap stuff is a bit of a pain in the arse for scanning

Are you in Portsmouth now? Hiscock gallery in southsea has some nice paper and pads. Failing that the Uni shops (portland and eldon buildings) have cheaper pads but they're still quite good. Won't be open at the mo though...

I would have thought a layout pad would be good for pencils. It's not that thick though, but good for practice. Goldline are a pretty standard make.

Are you interested in using pens? I have a set of copic markers which are awesome and a lot of people use them for the style of drawing you do. You can get starter sets for £30 or so I think, worth it if you want to try some different mediums:) Search youtube for copic tutorials and you'll find some good stuff.

Nah, in Hull till September but I will remeber that for when I run out again and am home, thanks!!

And I tried copics but they didn't agree with me, I've done digital too but I always prefer pencils

Scroll down a bit in this thread: http://forums.penny-arcade.com/showthread.php?t=105734 until you see the 'Books' section. see if you can find a couple of the Dynamic Anatomy/Anatomy for Artists books second hand on Amazon or somewhere. Doing some basic anatomy drills will improve the look of your work a thousand times over. It may not be as fun as just busting out some anime style drawings but if you want to improve and have your people look like actual people, you'll need to do it at some point.
Honestly you'll be surprised how fast you can improve if you set yourself half an hour or an hour every day to draw something.

Sorry to come off as massively critical, just trying to help :)

Anyway, I just use printer paper, I don't really see the point in spending a lot of cash at the level I'm at.

Edit: Actually, here you go: http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=burne+hogarth&x=0&y=0

Really hope I'm allowed to link this here...

Ooooo wow thanks a lot those links really help!! I probably won't move away from cartoony style, but my style isn't really anime that much but it does need some improvement with the anatomy anyway. Some of the books look good!! And I will check out the forum!
