Spec me a skipping rope

I have been skipping using a plastic skipping rope for the last few months

I find that my hands well wrists get sore after a while like rsi pain

My mate has a proper skipping rope
The rope is not plastic and it does go a lot faster than mine
His handles are made of wood or metal
Feel better when using his

What skipping rope shall I buy? What do u recommend?

Buy the one he has?

I use a standard reebok one, there all pretty much the same. The rope ones are slower than plastic I find.

thanks I tried his a few times felt I could generate more speed
it was heavier as well
