I haven't played any games for years, but im tempted to find something to kill some time with. Any suggestions for fairly slow paced, singleplayer games (My brain is too old for FPS now, lol) Something like a space trading game, sim city type game or something like the total war series would do nicely. Anything recent that fits that bill? :)

Kings Bounty: The Legend <--- Heroes of Might & Magic-esque
Defense Grid: The Awakening <--- tower defence game
Sims 3?

There's a new Anno game out (Anno 1404) not actually played it yet though but the previous one was nice and sedate mostly, would get hectic but the best bit is you can always pause!

X3 games are fantastic too though mate, both are building and trading, but completely different styles so both worth looking into.

Although I'm a huge fan of the Total War series, I hated Empire, so I'd personally not recommend it.

X3 is good, I played it for about 3-4 months straight then just as my trading empire was flourishing and the millions were rolling in I kind of got bored, it just turned into "lets wait 2 days until I have enough money for big thing 'x' then after I'll wait until I can buy big thing 'y'"

Very good for a while though and might be more interesting if you go through the missions, I went through the merchant path so maybe that's why I lost interest.
