spec me a small storage/media pc

looking a small media/ storage pc for saving all my files on movies pictures etc and being able to access on any else of my devices.

need a small form factor/ nothing larger than a mid tower but smaller the better.
room for 4 3.5inch drives
low power as on most time

The other obvious option is a Dell PowerEdge T20.

The Gen8 HP is a neater package, but depending on the offers the T20 is better value.

Don't overlook the HP ML10 V2 either, larger than the Microserver but more options to expand.

Or if you want something more appliance like then look at a NAS unit, like a Synology.
