Spec me a solution

I have both at home and work, 2 computers and multiple screens that I would like to use one mouse with and one keyboard, and ideally switch between monitors (but can work around that).
Old days you'd just get a KVM and be done, but I've heard there are software solutions now...?

Anyone used any? What do people recommend and do they work across windows / macs?

I used Synergy in the past, and works across mac/windows/linux sounds like it be a perfect fit for what you need.
