Spec me a Soundcard

ive decided the time has come to get my self a decent sound card im currently using the onboard surround HD soundcard on my asus a8r32-mvp i have Creative T5900 5.1 speakers, not looking to spend to much so just want some ideas as im a complete sound noob got around 30 to spend on one. , thanks

I'm not sure how much difference it would make with those speakers in terms of sound quality/music playback, but if you want a card for extra features and a bit of future proof (don't need to worry about getting a mobo with good onboard sound in future), then i'd try and get something like the Audigy 2 card second hand. Can usually be had for £15 or so
