Hey guys,

Currently having a look around at various SPICE circuit simulation and analysis packages... Anybody got any recommendations? Anybody know which is generally classed as the leader of them all?

Currently having a look at Electronics Workbench Student Suite containing Multisim and Ultisim but not quite sure if this is the software I should best be looking at...

Would appreciate any information or recommendation.

Many Thanks.

Dan.

They all suck* :D . Or, for a more valid answer you might get more results here (if you thought there was a low female percentage here then prepare to be shocked):

Be specific about what you want it for there though. Switcher CAD is free and sounds impressive (someone I was talking to put an mp3 file through a sound processing circuit they had designed in it to hear the result  )

*My limited experience with sims shows them to be useless, but some people seem to find them invaluable. I use Circuit maker 7 student as its free, mabye it isn't the best but I don't think they can do much practically as there are too many variables in real circuit construction :)

Orcad PSpice ? We used that while at university (few years ago) and as far as I'm aware, you can get a free student package (without too many limitations)

I've only used pSpice and Crocodile Clips, and I would reccommend croc clips over it any day. You can get a 30 day free trial from their website.

Great for circuit simulation :)
