As title really, I'm looking for a standalone ADSL modem to connect to my existing router. I’m currently connected with Sky Max up to 16Mbit (managed to acquire the username and password). I would like to keep my current router (Netgear RP614). Would the Linksys AM200 be suitable? And if I were to get that would the port forwarding currently setup on the RP614 work?

The only stand alone ones that I have had experience of are the DrayTek Vigor 100's however I would highly recommend them.

Very reliable and good quality, it is also a true PPoA to PPoE modem so it wont introduce any more routing between the modem and the WAN port of your router.

I'll have a look at them, thanks; PPoA to PPoE routing was my biggest concern.

Edit: The DrayTek Vigor 100 was one that came up in a search of mine a couple of weeks ago, and was highly recommended
