Spec me a strategy game!

I'm getting bored of the constant "build, attack, destroy" of games like SupCom and C&C and want something a bit more diplomatic. I love the Total War games but I'd prefer something with a more modern setting.

Can anyone recommend anything?

You could try Sudden Strike games or Codename Panzers looks quite good

Also try Galactic Civilisations 2. Like Civ, but in space. And much harder, IMO.

Does Civ4 work on Vista x64? I just tried the demo but there are compatibility issues.

I'm going to give Civ4 a shot seeing as it's on offer on Steam at the moment. Are the expansions worth it?

I'm loving World in Conflict at the moment. No building or resource gathering at all, just call down troops, attack and destroy.

Works fine if you patch it up, not sure if the demo has patches.

Don't buy it on steam. It is massively overpriced.

Get BtS too.

I'm a bit bored of Civ4 now. Got a score of 120,000+ on Monarch and thought whats the point of going up another step for 6 months of annoyance?
