Spec me a strategy game

Warcraft III for me.

It's the only Strategy game I've got into. Mostly helped by my WOW experience. Cracking game. Possibly the best I've played for years. I'll probably keep playing this till the next WOW expansion. I've always wondered how online strategy games playout.

I didn't think WCIII was too bad till I tried multiplayer. It went quickly downhill. Its so called rank matching put me as a level 1 with people over level 20 consecutively, and like many of these RTS where you have to build a base and get resources...a lot of players rush. Also almost all the time people beat me by overwhelming me...not cunning strategy.

Whereas Medieval you start with even teams at the start...where to win you must use your brain which is what these types of games should be about.
