£££ are not an issue, however all parts have to come from OCUK. I plan to sell the best bang for buck system to a few friends. :D

My only criteria is that price alone does not make it super.

Yours for $133million USD - but you can probably get 50 quid off with it being second hand.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

You want bang for buck, but also a brilliant PC? They don't really come together. There's a point you hit where you get less extra performance for ever £1 you hit. Give an approximate budget and I'm sure you'll get a handful of superb rigs for the price.

He stated best bang for buck, that is a budget, prob around 1700 for a total system or 1200 for simply a tower/base unit. I'll knock one up later if someone doesnt beat me to it :)

but can it run crysis on very high?:p

Hey, an IBMs an IBM right... this one's just got a FEW more cores (to the tune of 100,000+)

I don't think anything can do it with full AA at 60fps+ even NASA haven't gotten that advanced yet.

Erm, sorry to wee on your bonfire but im sure my Spectrum 48k can run Crisis on Very High. Or is that me Very High?

Thanks phill0i for the spec. As stated looking for the best components money can buy from OCUK. I don't think the system costing $133 million is avalaible from OCUK. Budget wise, no higher than £4k, I can then charge an extra £1k ontop to my customers :)

I got something a bit similar, but this is what i came up with:

i notice that even with a budget of £4k - ppl ar still speccing for a i7 920? whats wrong with the 965 lol?

The 965 costs far more and the 920 is readily overclockable to 965 speeds. Far better spending the money on other bits - nicer/dual monitors, for example.

And avoid the Corsair SSDs - they're slow as in real-world tests. I'm not sure that I'd go for the Intels personally, I think they're overpriced and the Vertex series will have better performance than the X25-M, but at least you know what you're getting.
