Hi All

Can you spec me a superwide monitor ? I'd really like something around 3840x1440 preferably not TN, with a refresh rate >60Hz.

Obviously the X34A is ideal, but out of my price range. I would like to keep to more like to £5-600 mark although I'll go higher if really pushed.

sorry, I was quoting the LG website for specs of that monitor :P but that shows technically I was incorrect. The monitor goes up to 61Hz, which qualifies it in the >60Hz requirement! However, i stand by the spirit of requesting >60Hz to mean by at least a visible amount!

Frequency
HDMI(H-Frequency) 30 ~ 90KHz
HDMI(V-Frequency) 56 ~ 61Hz
Display Port(H-Frequency) 30 ~ 90KHz
Display Port(V-Frequency) 56 ~ 61Hz (FreeSync 40~60Hz)

I agree 1hz id neither here nore there.
So is it the Ilyama or nothing ? What's next up the price scale ?

I'm about to pull the trigger on the LG 34". It seemed to be the only screen that fits all the criteria I had, albeit a little bit more than I originally planned to spend. I have an AMD graphics card though so it'll run fine at 75Hz for me.

I think you should really check that... i think overclockers.co.uk is the only site place i've found so far with it listed as 75Hz. Please also bare in mind it's in the curved section too, when it's a flat panel.

My 34UC98-W runs at 75Hz with a 1080 without any problem. I can even overclock the panel to 80Hz without any issues.

As far as I can tell from looking around, with an AMD card and Freesync enabled it works fine at 75Hz. I have read somewhere that it will show as 75Hz with Nvidia cards, but won't actually be running at 75Hz (34UM88 that is).
