As far as I can tell from looking around, with an AMD card and Freesync enabled it works fine at 75Hz. I have read somewhere that it will show as 75Hz with Nvidia cards, but won't actually be running at 75Hz (34UM88 that is).

If windows is reporting 75 he ? How else can we test ?

Wait a few months and save up another £200 for AOC's offering, the AG352UCG. It's 3440x1440, 35", Gsync, 100Hz, VA panel. Source...

If that really sells at £799 on release it'll definitely shake up the market.

Guys, you are confusing two monitors.

34UM88 = 60Hz
34UC88 = 75Hz (with amd card officially, and reports of nvidia ok too)

you know, now i've slept on it I am hovering over the decision to buy the 34UC88 myself, except for the freesync range only drops to 55Hz. The game I play most varies between about 30fps and 100 fps. why o why does it not go a tad lower... :(

It says about it here.. Link.

However, you can do this effectively only with AMD card, because even though it theoretically works with Nvidia cards, there is phenomenon called frame skipping that will cause all your system and monitoring tools report 75 Hz and FPS while you will see only 60 FPS effectively and those additional 15 frames are going to be skipped.

I've also read of someone on here suffering from frame skipping with it too.

More than possible from the looks of that !
Thanks for the heads up - looks like I'll look back to LG
