I was reading one of my music Facebook Groups last night and came across a bloke who was gigging and the power in the venue surged/spiked/went off and his very expensive Line 6 Helix and Combo were fried.
Nobody seemed to have any empathy with him saying it's his fault for being a gigging musician and one thing in his armoury should be a surge protector but some of these guys were quoting 100 or more dollars.
I gig with a lot of expensive gear including the same guitar pedal and I've always used standard 6 gang socket boards and finally realised I may need protection at some point.
