I'd like to buy a new PC in the near future... Main use will be gaming, but I also want to hook it up to my audio/TV system

Ideally I'd be looking for system based around a q6600 and a pair of high(ish) end graphic cards and 4gb of RAM and a 22" LCD monitor. I'd like to overclock it too. I also need a decent sound card.

Budget is £1300, but I don't mind going over a little.

Thanks guys! :)
/EDIT: I'll also need a decent keyboard/mouse and mat! :)

thats a big enough budget :-)

shall we say two 4870's as a good start..? they look like they are amazing value for money and at the resolution of a 22" monitor, they would fly.

Are you looking to water cool or air? something like a TT or a TRUE?

I'd use air cooling... What's a TT or TRUE?

Left the case choice up to you.
I know it will be about 100 pounds extra over your budget with the case BUT this is a monster...

E8400 with TT (Tuniq Tower) and good gskill memory on x48 asus = 4ghz cake easy.

Now on top of that you got 500gb space in Raid 0 for massive speed for software/applications and another 750gb for storage/backup.

Not one BUT TWO HD4870, both with accelero coolers and noctua fans ( allowing for high clocks and very very cool and silent temps).

850 Thermaltake ( 750 not in stock) to power it up nice, cool and silent.

Nothing more to say, thats a monster ;). Later on you could sell your E8400 and swap for 8600 when they come which will make it even more scary allowing you to probably get about 5ghz clock ;).

--------------------------------
Possible savings - take out 2 noctua fans - passive cooling will be more than enough if you wont clock high. [28]

Get smaller storage/backup HDD than 750gb if you dont need that much, also you can get smaller main drivers for raid0, lets say 320gb instead of 500. [40-80]

Cheaper PSU ( i wouldnt) [20]

You can get cheaper motherboard as well. [20-40]

Total possible savings - 110 - 170.

E8400 will do better in anything else than maybe heavy graphic rendering etc.

ATI are a lot better atm, the 4870 is just slight bit slower than the best GTX280, sometimes even faster a bit and the price difference is ~150 pound on each.

So if you're looking for 20% extra performance for another 300quid the get GTX280x2.

This will definitely last you for a while.

BUT BE SURE TO STAND BACK WHEN YOU POWER IT ON !! It has a power of a small power plant!

I'm jelous, I want 1300pounds too :(.
