Hi, this is my first post and I'm after some help on a PC build that will mainly be for gaming and just general browsing. My budget is around £1000 with a monitor and a operating system. I have no peripherals. I don't know whether to go AMD or intel and I also like the look of the sapphire radeon r9 280x toxic for a gpu. I would like to play recent launch games on ultra settings as well

Okay so still on the same budget however I have narrowed my system down. I've bought the msi r9 280x GPU, the CPU I will get is the i5 4670k. But I would like a red/gold/black colour scheme with the RAM and case, preferably a windowed case I also would like a aftermarket CPU cooler that will fit as I would like the option to over clock at a later date.

Great thanks I like the look of those.:)

Just a few more questions before I buy, will a 600w PSU be powerful enough and will the cooler master hyper 212 fit on a msi z87-g45 board in a corsairs carbide 300r windowed case

No real preference on ram as long as it is good quality and works fine with everything I'm happy.:D so if you could suggest a 8gb of ram that would fit under the cooler master heat sink that would be great.:)

Intel i5 4670k
Gigabyte g1.sniper z87
2x4gb teamgroup Vulcan orange ram
Cooler master 212 CPU cooler
Superflower golden green 650 w psu
Corsair carbide 300r windowed
Msi Radeon r9 280x
Windows 8.1 (purely because I don't mind it and would eventually upgrade if I bought 7)
Samsung evo 840 120g SSD
2tb seagate barracuda hard drive
And a monitor, keyboard and mouse.

Are you going for a specific theme in colouring? if not i would recommend the Gigabyte G1 Sniper Z87 instead of the MSI G45, a slightly better board for a bit less dosh, you could probably throw the extra money at another cooler, not sure if it will fit but Alpenfohn K2 cooler is stupidly cheap at the moment and one of the best air coolers you can buy.

No scheme given up trying to match things , I looked at the sniper but was reading issues with the sound from it?

Ordered everything last night but just had a thought, does the cooler master 212 come with thermal compound pre applied or do I need to buy some.
