Hey all,

It's just dawned on me how much I spend on various coffee/tea based products from flash cafes to keep me awake in the mornings. So, in order to save a bit, I've decided to invest in a flask, so I can get up a few minutes earlier, make myself a hot wake-up drink, and cart it to college.

So, basically, using your ace consumer knowledge, please recomend me a stylish, compact, but most importantly well-performing flask. :)

Time to stick 'themos flask reviews' into google. :p

I wouldn't classify Amazon as a competitor as Amazon sell books, dvds, games, electronics and probberly a lot more and they don't actually specify in one cagorgy like OcUK (PC Hardware) do, so in my eyes I would keep it on the same level as eBay.

This one looks good, except for the inconveniently large handle. Do you think it's removable?

A very cylindrical one would be best, as it'll need to fit at the bottom of my rucksack.

tescoes sell a couple of completely steel ones.

they sell a 1L one thats about the size of a 2l bottle of Coke, and a nice small 500ml one thats also good.

they both work really well and are almost indestructable.

Anyone any idea how many cups there are to a litre?

Considering I'll only want, say, 3 a day, 500ml is probably the better size.

Take a huge flask, and a wee cup, and you can have hot drinks all day!

:)

Quite fond of my 500ml stainless steel flask. Gives me 3 x hot drinks when I'm out walking etc. Any decent outdoor shop should have a good selection.

Word of warning though, don't try to clean them out using Milton. Doing that causes the rubber vacuum seal at the bottom of the flask to perish, so no more hot drinks :(

I just bought a 1L stainless steel Asda branded for £7. Just big enough for a bottle of hot mulled wine. :D

Sainsburys do nice stainless steel ones in their larger stores....

I got a 1.5l silver stainless steel one for £14 and it keeps my tea (piping) hot for at least 5 hours. It's still drinkable (ie, quite hot) after 7.

I take it with me when I play golf. I've used a couple of other s/s flasks (one from Asda and one from Millets) but neither of them compare to the Sainsburys one.
