I'm currently in the process of replacing the downstairs toilet. So far I've ripped out the sink, toilet and replaced the extractor fan.

My only concern is the soil stack, as you can see from the image it goes directly into the floor, not the wall. What toliet would you suggest, or waste pipe to solve this issue? Most Close Coupled Toilet I've seen the waste is close to the wall and possibly may not fit. What would you do?

I could have course box in the waste and create a shelf, but I'd rather not if possible.

I went for the Wickes Portland £50 toilet in the end. I suspect I may purchase a new soft close seat too, although this toilet may not see a great deal of traffic so it might have to wait for that upgrade!

I've still to tile the floor before I fit the pottery. So I need to confirm final heights etc, but it looks like the exit of the Portland is fairly low so need a waste that starts at approx 13cm.

13cm from where, bottom of outlet pipe, top of outlet pipe.

The one I linked to, can be trimmed down.

I use same connector on same toilet for outside bog here ok.

I trimmed about 30mm off mine, the plastic spigot at the bottom is 42mm in height it will come off, it will also slide up, but it's easier to remove it before trimming.

But, work out finish floor height before you trim the connector.:o

Look at McApline spec drawing for actual dimensions in the link I gave.

A standard McAlpine rigid bent pan connector will do the job, try a WC-CON8E or WC-CON8. Most 4" soil pipe for standard toilets that comes out of the floor is put in about 1" from the finished wall.

I've used a flexible jobbie. Looks like it should be fine. Floor all tiles, just need to fix the toilet and sink, then skirting.

One thing I want to do is mount the toilet cistern slighty awy from the wall, no more than a couple cm. What type of washer/kit would you use here?
