Spec me a track day....

Hi, I'm running the London marathon later this year and am coming across a few days early from jersey driving up and am looking to do a track day but not using my car.

Something a little more exotic if possible.

Any idea's or suggestion? Ideally it'll be on the way from weymouth to London but I don't mind going a little out of my way.

Budget. For a full day 500ish?
 
It's more of an experience day than a track day - but highly recommended none the less. My suggestion is a palmersport day.

Car for this year are BMW M3 GTP, Formula Jaguar, Porsche 911 JP3, Palmer Jaguar, Clio Cup and Caterham 7 Superlight. So you get to drive an assortment of cars including a single seater, sports prototype and a race spec clio. It's not like other experience days either - they encourage you to push the cars to the limit as the bedford track has miles of run off.

I'd echo the sentiment for a PalmerSport day. They are almost certainly the best experience days out there. A full day will be pushing the budget too far though. A half day would fit as they are around £355 + VAT I think.

Again I would say a Palmer day, by far the best events today in the UK. If you pushed a little more you might be able to rent a car, something like my Mazda race car for around £400 for the day and then perhaps add a track day cost onto that for a good day out.
