I just handed in my dissertation, so I feel like I deserve a reward for leaving it to the last minute and working so hard to overcome my procrastination :p

I am still a poor student so budget is £40 max. Current rig in sig, have a decent monitor, headset, mouse and kb. Not sure what to get so thought I'd ask what you'd buy? Could be anything from cold cathodes to cpu coolers and beyond. Shop for needless goodies for me! :D
 
Hmm, tempted. Actually, may end up going for an HD webcam. Mine is ancient. Means I could make secret "home videos" in good quality too ;) :p
 
Any particular sound card? With what I have to spend I'd worry that I'd only end up with something marginally better than onboard.
 
Well I had a 4 week report project that just finished. As a treat I bought myself GRID and DIRT 2 from steam as part of a weekend deal and I bought an xbox 360 controller for windows. Came to around £30.
 
Hmm, that sound card does sound fantabulous. If it were in stock I'd probably be on it already lol, would like to buy from OcUK if possible (free shipping and all). Agh!

So if I were to go for a webcam, what is good and what isn't? I just want something with a decent framerate and good res, but have no idea what to look for.
 
Desk space is a premium unfortunately, but I like the randomness. Will get civ4 to keep me going til I can decide :p
 
have to agree with Cook there...I've got a soundcard and to be honest the onboard audio is now almost as good as it's HD audio....sound cards are for the REAL audiophiles who can tell the difference but in headset gaming there only is so much you can hear before it's drowned out by the soung of your machine gun :p
