Spec me a triple display setup

Im a little out of the loop after spending a year renovating a house instead of playing with computers. I am now in desperate need of kitting the new man grotto out !

I will be looking for a few different set-ups for different purposes and different rooms so i will list them separately as the time comes, this thread though is dedicated to a triple monitor setup.

I "think" i want 3 x 27" displays, in portrait using eyefinity.

I don't want to spend the money that the Dell ultrasharps demand, what are my options ?

I'm quite handy with modding/metal work so a stand or bracing monitors shouldn't be a problem, but if we can build rotatable monitors, or a dedicated stand in to the mix.

Setup will be mainly used for desktop stuff, and audio, but gaming is not off the cards.

If people would be so kind as to recommend a decent graphics card to go with this. I'm not a clarity fan boy, the odd game, at full HD with little lag will be fine, I don't need all the fanciness.

I don't necessarily have a "budget" but naturally the cheapest way of doing it with reasonable results would be good.

Hi, I have 2 x Dell U3011 and will get a third one for Eyeinfinity. I use a ATI 6990 to run them but have a feeling I will need a ATI 7990 when it gets released for Tri Monitor gaming.

For 3 27 LCD what res will you be running at ? 1920 x 1200 or the Dell 27 Lcd which is higher ?

I would recommend you get an ATI 7970.

I dont mind just 1080p displays, no desire for 1200.

I dont want to fork out for the Dells though, although i have found some refurbished 24" ones on ebay for £65 each without the stands.

Anybody got pics of three 24" in portrait so i can get an idea of scale ?
