I bought my brother a Nikon D3200 18-55mm kit and Nikkor 55-300 lens for his birthday, so obvious Christmas gifts would be some accessories for it.

I believe his girlfriend is buying him a kit bag so I thought a tripod and maybe some lens filters would be an ideal present. I looked in Jessops and the tripods there ranged from about £49 to £99 but I'm guessing they're overpriced for what they are seeing as they're selling UV filters for £25..

Any recommendations on tripods? Looking at £60 budget but don't mind spending a little more if the product warrants it.

Cheers

For £60 all the tripods you look at are going to be dreadful, either so heavy they'll never be taken anywhere, or so unstable you'll never get a sharp shot.

Unless you go Redsnapper :D

I have the joy of working in a proper camera shop, and have tried all of the tripods there, short of a couple of Benro kits (~£280) nothing there touches my Redsnapper kit that cost me £50 a couple of years back. Ball head is a bit pants though.

Thanks both, I ordered a Red Snapper Tripod and head from their website :)
