Wondering what to go for while it’s still Black Friday. Generally have had a good experience with Sony Bravias so would favour Sony.

Was thinking to go 55” but am open to opting for a slightly smaller model if the trade off is a significant increase in quality (I’m aware that I can’t have everything for sub £1000!).

Many thanks for your help!

LG OLED55B4E 55" OLED 4K Is £900 at Hughes’s, I’d imagine you can find it cheaper if you shop around

Thanks! Will shop around. Just wondered what you think about the model as the reason behind the rec - is it hitting the value curve well?

I guess I think of Sony as generally making higher end models but don't appreciate having to pay for brand equity so much so would imagine LG is more set for the money in this price bracket.

Depends on width of the set really, it’s replacing a rather ancient Bravia which was 46” but has larger bezels so can accommodate a slimmer 55”. Not totally against 65” if it’ll fit!

I would honestly just go the largest workable OLED you can get in your budget. OLED is just such a step up from other panels. I understand the attachment to Sony for brand recognition but be aware they aren't the Sony of the 80's/90's unless you are getting their absolutely top tier models (£1500-£2000+) they are all made in China.
To be fair it’s more like a minimum bar. Bottom end Miele washing machines are crap but still have a brand tax attached!

Why largest? I figured a better featured 55” might offer a better picture than a more low end 65”. Just wondered what your thoughts were in that sense.

£899 with the promotion, obviously you'd need to measure up.

The RS page claims it's 60hz, but their official store page lists the screen running 4K up to 120hz:

Thanks for the rec!
