So I'm getting married in July.

For a honeymoon we are planning to go skiing/snowboarding in Canada at Christmas.

But we've not planned for anything immediately after the actual wedding, which is where I need your inspiration!

Criteria:

- We'd like to stay in UK.
- Probably looking at 3-4 days.
- Needs to be pukka!
- Needs to be things to do (no, not paintballing! but sights, visits, scenary etc)

Any ideas?

Thanks

James

Maybe a cople of days in the Lakes? Find a nice place to stay and sorted ^ If you prefer cities...well I'm not sure, maybe London or something similar...maybe Edinburgh?

Is a house my family used to own until 1994. Has since been turned into a 5 star B+B and is utterly gorgeous.

Took my girlfriend for Valentines, it was amazing. Pendine Beach nearby for stunning cliff walks and rockpooling (!), Tenby for an awesome town inside a castle by the sea (lots of surf esque shops), and bunches of other stuff nearby.

5 star, seriously reccomended.

Any reason for it needing to be in the UK (not trying to be nosey), but when I looked at this last year (again short honeymoon before the main one) it worked out the same price to go into europe. Better weather, more interesting things to see.

going there soon, in a suite for a weekend (I am a lucky boy). certainly something worth considering. sure there are similar for cheaper.

post wedding stress relieft and some spa stuff. will go down a storm. and you have the excuse for a massage (not that you should be even thinking such things after just getting MARRIED! ;) )

Thanks for the replies chaps. Food for thought there.

There are a couple of reasons for staying in UK, the main two being:

1. She is not a good flier (read: TERRIBLE, even with prescribed valium!) [getting her to Canada is going to be interesting!!]; and

2. I've been based in Europe for the past year (this is my last week in Stockholm hoorah!), so I'm pretty sick of travelling (I was commuting and spending weekends at home) - at the moment, the best holiday for me would be just to spend a week at my own home for a change!!

I'm torn between somewhere idyllic in the countryside, and a nice historic City, such as Bath or York.

We've never been to Cornwall or Cotswalds, but I wonder if we'd get bored?

Your thoughts?

All suggestions appreciated :) thanks.
