I'd like to be able to pull data from my dashcam to my mobile phone (Google Pixel) or my iPad Pro (2021) when I'm travelling. To which end I'd like something that can plug into the USB C port on my iPad and Android and into which I can plug the SD card from my dashcam. My current dashcam doesn't have wifi. Having a USB C port would be nice, even better if there are two ports.

I haven't used a card reader for years but I'd maybe look at something like an Anker (I've always had good experience with Anker) USB-C and USB 3.0 SD Card Reader, PowerExpand+ 2-in-1 Memory Card Reader with Dual Connectors plus a usb A to usb C adapter/extension. There are some cheaper options from the likes of ugreen (also had good experience of them)

One end of the adapter is usb C, the other usb A. In theory you should be able to add a usb A to usb C adapter on the usb A end....

Another option is a wifi enabled sd card, I know they used to be available but I can't seem to find them easily at reasonable prices...

IB-CR301-C3 (google this product code - ocuk don't do the USB-C variant but it's easy enough to find), small, not too pricey and the build quality is decent enough. We have the USB 3.0 version(exactly the same except the end connection) for plonking in cards from the dashcam and the wildlife camera we use to monitor hedgehogs, been very happy with it so far.

I'd also suggest some slot covers for whatever reader you end up with, helps keep dust and fluff from getting up inside the reader, even if you only stick them in the slots you're not using. Should only be a few bucks, but it helps keep the slots and the internals clean / dust-free.

I wasn’t aware of such things. Google isn’t bringing up any high endurance Wi-Fi SD cards.
Looking into it a bit more seems like they've sort of stopped selling them, understandable with built in wifi etc.

But you're basically looking for things like eyefi and toshiba flashair, the latter is still available but stupidly expensive.

First You should purchase an SD card reader that is compatible with both your iPad and Android device. This will allow you to plug the SD card from your dashcam into the reader and then plug the reader into your device.

I have had one of these for ages and it seems to the job just fine on my Android phone. Just type "USB 3.1 micro sd" into a certain auction site and it will come up.
