Spec me a video camera to record a croquet match.

So I'm thinking about recording my croquet matches to see how badly I'm playing. The camera will need to encompass a full court of 17.5m by 14m and capture the croquet balls and their colours which are 92mm diameter. A match can last over 3 hours.

I have a tripod.

What do I need and how much will it cost me?

Your going to find it hard to find something that records 3 hours straight or are you thinking of stopping it and starting again.

I would say a GoPro on you would be enough and even one on a tripod could work.

A GoPro can record about 2 hours with one battery.

A dedicated hd camcorder might be a option but I'm not sure many will record 3 hours straight.

I honestly can't think of anything that doesn't require an external power source.

Fair few will record at the same time as charge/being powered from a USB power bank so that would be an option.
