Spec me a VM lab for £500

Hi All,

I'm looking to get a PC to run 3-4 VMs on a Server 2012 Hyper-V. Looking for help with specs as I'm unsure where to put the money in terms or processor speed/cores, ram size/speed, hdd/ssd.

The VMs would be a domain controller, a mail server, a print/fileserver, and a misc playing around, possibly web-facing server. Nothing too intensive really.

Any ideas?

What do you need? just the tower?

I know one thing and that cores and RAM for VM.

If it were me Gen 8 HP Microserver, spend the change on a bunch of disk's, spare nic and some ram.

You will need good multithreading here then for multiple machines. I would try an AMD 8 Core.
