As per my previous spec me a... For a Hoover. I have now moved onto a washIng machine.

Requirements are; black, good spin, quiet and under £300 inc deliver to scottish islands.

We seen a few by 'bush' but been told to stay away. We have just ordered a ice black Indecit fridge freezer so might be nice of there the same brand. Needs to be quite as its an open plan kitchen living room.

Thanks

we have a zanussi one that was just under £300. is very nice actually holds a good load and is quiet. worth a look. always wanted a sammysung but the decent ones are £700+ and didnt fit into our washing machine bay (always important to consider when purchasing any machone)

i forget the brand name, but there is a drawless one thats called the "moon"
avoid it at all costs, unless you want your washing coming out dirtier than when it went in of course

Ours died recently. According to Mum the things to look for on one are a faster spin-speed and heavier load capacity. Think it was a Bosch Advantixx or Bosch Exxcel she bought in the end.

got a zanussi thats been going for over 10 years now, with 2 washes a day sometimes. For a £300 machine, the only thing thats been replaced are the carbon brushes

I think its all pot luck with domestic machines tbh

We just got a Bosch, from my research it came down to Miele (if you have the money) or Bosch.

If you want one long term then there are no other options than a Miele.

All the rest its a case of seeing out the warrenty.

Me I have a 20 year old Hotpoint. It was reconditioned and its a bit noisy but it comes from an age when washing machines were actually built properly and in the UK, not the bashed together Polish junk nowadays.

I got a Beko 7kg 1600 rpm (part no. WME7267) last year for £245 delivered to mainland, it was in white but they are also similar models available n Black.

Check out the reviews in Google shopping they have really good ratings.

I hope Dimple doesn't mind me quoting what he said from the two threads I've linked to previously.
If my wife and children were to drop dead right this second, the slagging off of Merloni products (Indesit, Ariston, Creda & Hotpoint) is 100% justified.
I have an amazing job so have no need to be bitter.

Here are the facts:
When Merloni bought us out in 2002 I attended 1000s of quality meetings and every meeting was about becoming better than Bosch which alone speaks a million words.
Miele were never a worry because the Italians wanted the market around a certain price bracket but more importantly they wanted the quality with the cheapest parts available which was impossible to do.
During the last 12 months (way before we were told about plant closure) I was having to check products that were being made in the Polish factory and they were embarrassing.

So for the consumer if you have a Creda/Hotpoint product made before 2004 (it took 2 years before the Italians stopped dealing with British suppliers and bought from the cheapest places) then you should have a well made piece of hardware.
In 2002 Merloni took over Creda/Hotpoint along with Indesit/Ariston who they already owned.
Around 2005 the Italians decided to use the most cheapest parts they could find resulting in virtually every product being floored or quarantined before being quickly repaired.
I was the Quality Audit Technician for 27 years and all 5 of us in the Quality Department did not own a Creda, Hotpoint, Ariston or Indesit product between us.
During 1000s of quality meetings the Italians would not listen to our pleas to use better parts.
The products are now built in Poland where they care even less.
You have been lucky.

Take the advide or not - I don't care.

Miele have started to produce a direct drive jobbie, it's competitively priced, virtually silent and the drum is completely suspension suspended.

If I had to buy one, it would be Miele
