Hi, looking for a washing machine. Can not say I know much about them other than the basic specs like drum size / spin speed. Ideally 9kg weight capacity plus?

Budget up to £400, any reccomendations for a noob?

Thanks

well i got a hotpoint ,luckily not on the burst into flames list maybe have a look at john lewis website for the extra free warranty and price match

My Samsung has
Direct drive
Ie no belt to worry about
Scheduled on/timer
Adjust/tailor/alter any program to suit your
Needs
A++ energy rating
Smart phone fault diagnosis
Had a longer warranty than most
1 year warranty on some I looked at
Which Is pretty poor in my opinion
Just way better than
The Indesit it replaced

Slightly over your budget but I'd go Bosch. I spent ages deciding what brand to go for and they seemed to get consistently good reviews. I'd go for the serie 6 to get the 9Kg drum.

All I would say is compared to my previous machine these things make practically no noise at all even at full spin.

LG direct drive. Was £550 at Costco and touch wood is still going after 4 years without a problem. The motor has a 10 year warranty.

Beko machines are decent. I was rather dubious at first but we have had our's for a few years now and it's been faultless. Currys have a couple of decent offers on Beko 9kg and 10kg washing machines at the moment for £239 and the same one in anthracite. A+++ for energy and 1400rpm spin.

Our expensive LG direct drive gave up the ghost last week, bought a Hotpoint from JL for under £300 which seems just as good tbh.
