Hi,
i'm currently running an AMD Athlon 6400+ BE, it idles at about 56 degrees which is really hot for it considering it has a max load temp of about 70.
any spec me a faily cheap custom watercooling kit for it? i only need a kit to cool the CPU, possible one that i'd be able to add to but mainly needed for the processor

a) 57c is fine.
b) cheap water cooling sucks.

57c may be fine as an idle temp, but this reaches over 85 when gaming.
so good air over fairly cheap water then?

I have an antec 300 (still boxed) getting 3 yate loon 2200RPM fans for the case and i think i need a new CPU cooler, any recomendations to cool this?

£30 spent on a decent air cooler is capable of out-performing a sub £100 (new) w/c kit. And all you need is a good amount of room around the cpu, much easier than the head-scratching of deciding where the pipes, pump, res and rad are going.

Your post has just reminded me of one of the reasons I built my new rig, the athlon XP2400+ was idling at about that same temp, and there didn't seem to be much point spending money on a five year old system.
