I really like my square JD glass, tis nice and heavy.
think theyt're in morissons for a tenner with a 35cl bottle of JD
Not just whiskey tho I drink all sorts out of it![]()
They're not pricey, the postage is pricey. Also don't for god's sake pay a premium to have JD branded on your whisky glasses.
If it's for sampling then a Glencairn glass is what you want. However for general drinking I like my big Ardbeg glass - http://www.ardbeg.com/shop/product/homeware/large-tumbler-glass.html
These are quite funky: Click here.
Though these are the similar to my usual ones: Click here.
Call me old fashioned but I don't see the need to spend a fortune on whisky glasses and both of the above are within your budget OP. I have spent considerably more than the above on a set of whisky glasses as a 60th birthday present for my father in law (fellow whisky connoisseur) and he keeps them in the case as they're "too good" to use![]()
I find a jar from Nutella quite good for whisky.
Of course you have to eat a jar of Nutella first... ¬_¬

edit: oh just saw I mentoined that before (http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=24531497&postcount=21) and I haven't even finished my first glass!
I have a set of cut crystal and some thin walled 10 sided glasses, both are fine.
It's a glass dude, you could drink out of an old bean can and it's still gonna taste the same.
Go to any shop which sells glassware, any department store, cookware shop. Anywhere like that, they will have glassware, look and choose what you like. This is a matter of personal taste and not performance, spec me threads like this annoy the hell out of me.
