Mostly to continue my wine journey - I don't like white, only red. The girlfriend like red and rose.

I have been looking at naked wines, but have heard mixed things, and am not sure I fully understand the concept.

Also browsed Laithwaites, Virgin and Tesco.

One thing I do not want is obligation - i.e. I want to be able to cancel at any time.

So, any thoughts or comments?

Cheers.

As per Ahleckz's post: I don't know that I have a specific budget! That's not helpful I know, but I don't really want to be having budget wines, which is why I have (nearly) ruled Tesco out!

My friend uses Laithwaites and is very happy with them. There isn't any obligation with them as far as I know but they did just up the price a little bit.
He's commented on their customer service which he describes as excellent.

You haven't put a budget down, that'll probably help people.

Cheers. Slightly amended the OP, but I'm not sure it's any clearer!

OK, naked wines have won me over. Their concept is fantastic. Signed up, got a case of red coming, and will do their angel scheme for a short time!

If I'm understanding this correctly, I got a £60 voucher for signing up (used off my first case), then got £40 for becoming an angel, and then free delivery on my next case.

So, my first case was £50 instead of £110 (saving £60), then if I bought the mixed merlot case (£55) using my other voucher + free delivery (£44), i'd get that for £11.

That means I would get 18 bottles of wine for £61, saving £104.

That can't be right.....though I hope it is!

That's because with all the discounts you'll only be paying a little bit more than what they're worth rather than loads! :P

Naked wines do some good wines. Look at the prices on the website Justin linked to. Some of those prices are astronomical.

I use virgin wines I'm far from a wine connousir but the wine iget from them every month is good I get a healthy discount and all inall it works out roughly £6.30 a bottle.

The wine scene can be very snobbish don't get sucked in :-)

By all means enjoy expensive wine but some is expensive because it has the right label and that is all

BBR sell some of the finest wine known to man that is why.

we use laithwaites..you can sign up for their wine plans that will send you a case every 3 months, but you dont have to. we just buy a couple of cases every now and then when we need them, they send a brochure through every now and then and we just pick and choose

though we did sign up to their premier club..basically we paid a 20 quid fee and every time you make a 12 bottle order they will give a free bottle of red and white wine

its easy to get your 20 quid back with just 2 orders..and we go through more than 6 cases a year so its like getting an extra case of 12 for 20 quid

I love huge full bodied wines and thankfully laithwaites can feed my hunger..big sicilian reds at 15%, fantastic puglian primitivo and knockout aussie durifs and shiraz

I have never found a 15% red in a supermarket yet..its heavenly for me as I love Port but its bad for me (in that its far to easy to drink too much!) , so these mega reds keep me happy
