I've been thinking about a winter hack to keep me going through the damper months.

Rather than it be laid up over summer, I was thinking if I got something like a road legal crosser I could have some fun in the mud too.

I've had my eye on a few DRZ 400 SM's, but they all sold out of my price range. Plus they're pretty tall so I'd probably have to have them lowered.

I was thinking a 400cc, since that's the upper end of that particular road tax bracket. It's either that or maybe go for a 125/150cc...

I didn't really want to spend much more than £2k if possible.

Does anyone have any recommendations of for good road legal crossers?

Chee-ahz :D

I guess it's a little of that and a little of the other :p

I don't plan to put anywhere near as much time into looking after it as I do my Speedy. She's gorgeous ;)

My original budget was for around £1k, but I wasn't really seeing anything near that price. But then I was looking around for the likes of the DRZ's... I'm thinking now that they're way more bike than I'd want for this purpose.

I'd rather not go for a 2 stroke if possible.

I guess a cheap, fun, road legal crosser I can abuse a bit sums it up best :)

£2800. Bit over what I wanted to spend, but it's in great condition and I figure I can always sell it on if I find I don't make good use of it :)

Went to pick her up earlier. Too tall for me though :( I could just about manage, but at the risk of popping a hip out :p Guy was really nice and delivered in his van. Will have to get it lowered but oh well :)

2006, 3414 miles on the clock, never seen the wet, various mods including Monster graphics, Remus can, LED tail and indicators.

Will post a pic or two when I get chance to see her in the light of day :)

Ok, here's a couple I took this morning before taking her to the garage for lowering :p
