I currently have a home network setup. I have two routers a Netgear DG834PN and the Thomson router I got from Be. I have been having problems with disconnects recently so at present I am using the Be supplied router while they try and trouble shoot things.

I also have a laptop and a HTPC. The HTPC connects over a pair of Homeplug AV adaptors to the router. The laptop connects over its internal wireless g adaptor.

I live in a flat in a Victorian conversion property. The walls are very thick so I struggle to receive a good wireless signal in the next room.

With this in mind I was thinking of moving to a Wireless-N setup. Is it likely I would get better throughput compared to the homeplug AVs? I don't stream much over the network. Most of the media is stored locally on the HTPC. I do download from my main PC though and then copy it over the network to the HTPC. This can be pretty slow at the best of times. Will I see an improvement with WirelessN and will it be stable?

Assuming it is worth my while I need to get a Wireless N modem router that will work with Be*. I also need a USB adaptor that I can stick in the back of the HTPC. I will also need an express card wireless N adaptor for the laptop. I guess I should buy these all from the same manufacturer. (I am veering towards Netgear). Any advice on this?
