Hi,

I am just about to move into a new flat - not within a block, it's a self-contained job on the top floor of a 3 floor house. The owner has broadband and has said that we can share the connection rather than paying for a new phone line to be installed. They have a router but it is not wireless and they don't want cables running through the house.

The closest we can get a router will be on the 1st floor so obviously we will need some way of connecting to it, hence the need for wireless. I have seen that there is now "N" connectivity which is best/fastest but I'm not sure if I'll need it - the internet connection is approx 8Mb.

So, my question is what Wireless PCI Card + Router combo would you recommend that will give the best chance of a good, constant signal. Budget is £150ish.

Cheers.

No-one!!!

Perhaps someone knows if there is really any difference between, say a £50 router and a £100 router. Is it similar to HDMI cables whereby it is just the same signal being sent so the money you spend is for fancy extras that you don't actually need? Or does the extra expense actually buy you something worthwhile - More stable connection etc?

Someone must know something???
