Spec Me A Wireless Router

Hi guys,
I currently have two computers connected via. ethernet, by some sort of Q-tec router which is awful. Im looking to extend the networth and add another computer, and possibly a PS3.

At the moment the two computers are in rooms next to eachother so the wiring was quite simple, but now that i need to add another pc, that is on the otherside of the house, i'm thinking wireless.

Just a few questions,

Will the speed stay the same? (Virgin)
Can anyone recommend a router? I've heard good things about the Linksys'.

I might just keep the currently computers connected via ethernet cable, as it saves time and money as they are already connected. For the other one i need a network card, can anyone recommend one?

This does tend to come up once or twice a week so you may want to have a look at the other threads for more detailed info but personally if it's virgin cable i'd take a Linksys WRT54GL and if you want a load more options shove a third party firmware on like Tomato or dd-wrt.
