Spec me a Wordpress gallery

Hi,

So yesterday I broke my php-fusion install and was rather frustrated, so I deleted the files and drop the MySQL tables before I even tried to fix it and today I set about setting up Wordpress, I've found a decent theme, added plugins and set up the widget sidebar.

But image galleries escape me, theres so many out there I'm just not sure which one is for me.

I need a gallery that can pluck the pictures from my Photobucket account and display them in a Wordpress page. I've seen plenty that seem to do this for Flickr accounts, but non for Photobucket.

I had a quick try at Lightbox v2 just now, it ticked all the boxes, but I couldn't get it to work, is there some sort of magic involved?

Another quick question whilst I'm here, intergrating forums, how hard is this, and what is the best forum to do it with? I currently use phpbb2 but I can't see the theme I use there going to well with the Wordpress theme.

And... How do I remove links from the Meta widget?

I don't need the RSS links as they're on the page in a different location

The meta section is in sidebar.php, in your theme directory.

There are very few embedded gallery plugins for wordpress, and none of those took my fancy. After extensive searching I gave up and wrote one from scratch. Good luck finding something decent.

Edit: Killed the extra links, refreshed the site, worked fine, I also have 4 'members' online on a site I've told 2 people about, 1 of which is... Yahoo. Nice to see that the thing that calls bots in Wordpress works before I've even stuck a proper URL on.

I've pretty much given up on the gallery tbh, I've sort of got the lightbox working now I found some better instructions and the next job will be embeding forums.
