Nah. Its not going to be holding mega amounts of data. I'll give you some background.

What we have at the moment is a MIS. Part of that MIS is a web front end that teachers use to register kids/enter reports and stuff like that. The troublle is that every time the company that wrote the MIS updates the front end, they keep adding more features to it, so we put the front end on its own PC. At the moment its ok because only mentors are accessing the front end, but we are moving over to lesson by lesson registration, which will mean all the teachers will be accessing it every hour.

The PC that its sitting on at the moment is a P4 2.8 with 1GbRAM and an 60Gb hard Drive.

So really i'd be looking at something like 3Ghz 2Gb RAM and a 80-100Gb hard drive.

Cheers. Ill be able to save a bit as well, coz I don't need a gfx card or DVD writer as ive already got those lyin about.

Personally, I would think about doing a RAID 1 mirror. They aren't expensive and are worth it if ever anything does happen to one of the disks. If you can save on the gfx and dvd etc, then get another HDD.

Here's the important question, Mr. Whitestar. Shall it be folding? :)
I would hope so ;)
